INVERCLYDE SHIPBUILDING
ENGINEERING COMPANIES

Greenock was as famous probably for its engineering as for its shipbuilding. The firms of Kincaids, Scotts and Rankin & Blackmore must have provided a large percentage of the British merchant navy's engineers over the 19th and 20th centuries as well as of course those who built engines for the local shipyards and others beyond. Many would have been trained at the Watt Memorial School on William St. Click the links below for information on each firm and again - please feel free to contribute.
